I’m Ben Cottrell, a licensed Professional Engineer and Certified Energy Manager with over a decade of hands-on experience in mechanical engineering, forensic investigations, and energy systems. I founded Ordcha Engineering PLLC to bring expert-level analysis, design, and consulting directly to clients who value clarity, precision, and accountability.

Ordcha is a one-man operation — no middlemen, no red tape. Just one engineer, fully dedicated to solving your mechanical challenges. “Ordcha” comes from a phrase that captures the heart of engineering: “order from chaos.” Whether it’s a failed system, an unclear design challenge, or a tangled set of conditions — my job is to bring clarity, structure, and reliable solutions.

My career has spanned everything from HVAC design and forensic failure investigations to energy audits and heat pump decarbonization. I’ve worked across industries — healthcare, manufacturing, higher ed, and commercial — and hold licenses in 10 states including North Carolina, Texas, Florida, and Georgia. Whether it’s inspecting hail damage on rooftop HVAC units or optimizing complex chiller plants, I bring technical rigor and real-world insight to every project.
